Resurface the skin to improve tone, texture and clarity

At TE Clinic South London (Traitements Esthétiques), our medical-grade chemical peels gently resurface the skin to improve tone, texture and clarity. Performed by Aida, our Clinical Pharmacist, our treatments tailored to individual skin needs, including pigmentation, acne, fine lines, and uneven tone.

The Treatment Process

  1. We assess skin type, concerns and medical history, then select an appropriate peel and course length.
  2. Skin is cleansed; sensitive areas are protected.
  3. The peel is applied in measured layers for a set time, then neutralised (where required).
  4. Calming serums and broad-spectrum SPF are applied, with clear aftercare guidance.
  5. Most clients choose 3–6 sessions, typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Aftercare

  • Expect temporary redness, warmth or tightness for 24–48 hours; light flaking may follow.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and bland moisturiser; avoid scrubs and exfoliants.
  • Pause actives (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C) for 3–5 days or until comfortable.
  • Avoid heat, vigorous exercise, saunas/steam and swimming for 24–48 hours.
  • Do not pick any peeling; allow skin to shed naturally.
  • Wear SPF 30–50 daily and minimise sun exposure while healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the potential side effects?

Common: transient redness, dryness, flaking, mild stinging or light breakout purge.Less common: post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (higher risk with sun exposure), cold-sore reactivation (if prone).Rare: infection, prolonged irritation or scarring. Our medical team follows evidence-based protocols and will advise you promptly if anything needs attention.

How many sessions will I need and how soon will I see results?

Many clients notice a fresher look within 7–10 days of the first peel. For texture, tone and clarity, a course of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart usually delivers the best, most lasting results, with maintenance peels as advised.

Are chemical peels suitable for sensitive or darker skin tones?

Yes—when appropriately selected and performed, peels can be tailored for a wide range of skin types and tones. We adjust peel strength/ingredients and aftercare to minimise downtime and reduce the risk of pigmentation changes. Consistent SPF is essential.
